Time to put Faith in Action

I received a phone call from my doctor's office yesterday afternoon that makes one stop cold in their tracks.  They found a "nodule" in my breast and want me to see a surgeon and they are calling the Moffit Cancer Center to try to get them to see me without charge.  I am one of millions without health insurance.

I have been hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.  My breast has been hurting for months and I have felt a lump for a while.  the problem is it is near where I had a biopsy don back in 1994, so there is scar tissue there.  Most sources say that pain is not a usual symptom of breast cancer and since it was near the scar tissue, I wasn't terribly worried.  Then the mammogram was "inconclusive" and they asked to see an older mammogram.  I tracked the previous one down and had it sent to the radiologist.  After a comparison, they decided I needed an ultrasound, which I had on Monday.  The call came on Wednesday.

Since I have been extraordinarily fatigued of late and had some other new symptoms, I was fearing the lump was not just scar tissue.  So, when the call came, I wasn't really surprised.  Still, hearing the words and the grim tone of the voice speaking, I had the wind knocked out of me.

I believe that God knows that my husband and son need me and He will not take me away from them.  I also believe the He knows our financial situation and will provide what we need in the way of health care.  So I've decided not to worry about any of it.  God wants us to trust in Him, and I do.  When things happen beyond your control, what else is there to do?

Thank you to all who are praying for me.  Thank you, God, for helping me get through whatever you may send my way.
