Oy! It's HOT!

Summer in Florida.  That time of year when you only want to be out long enough to go from the car air conditioning to the inside air conditioning.  It's also the time when our electric bills go as high as the thermometer.  But, I suppose we shouldn't complain.  After all, we chose to live here.

Usually, the only other time I leave the a/c in summer is to mow the grass or tend to the chickens.  Now we have the goats and I find I'm outside more often.  As a result, I'm doing lots more laundry.  I sweat.  The goats jump up on me.  Hair and dirt coat my clothes.  The hair sticks to the perspiration. Not a pretty sight.  But I DO so love the little critters!

I had read that goats can be addictive and now I can understand.  They are so inquisitive, clever, playful, sweet and personable you can't help but fall in love with them!  Now that I know the joy of owning goats, I wonder if I'll ever be able to live without them again.  It's not the hottest part of the summer yet, though.  We'll wait and see how much I love going out to feed them and exercise them when the mercury reaches close to 100.
