Life goes on

This week has been a hard one for me.  first losing Drumstick in the violent manner which ended her life.  Then, my dear Uncle John, my godfather, died after a long illness.  On top of that, I got my first piece of junk mail that addressed me as a senior citizen!  Oy!

But then, as so often is the case, something happened to remind me that though in this life there is sorrow and that all things come to an end, so too, does life begine and new things take the place of old.  One of the eggs that Stella has been sitting on hatched!  We now have a tiny, fluffy, precious little chick in the brooder.  God is so good to show me thatlife goes on.  Plus, I know that this life is but a moment in our existence.  I like to call this life "boot camp for eternity."   While what we do on this planet does not get us to heaven, only Jesus can do that by His Grace and substitutional attonement for our sins on the cross, what we do here will determine the rewards or punishments we will get in the next.

I have learned that this life is really quite short and we should treat each moment as precious.  Show those you love your affection.  Care for others.  Take care of what you have.  Find joy in the least of things.

For now, I will remember those I love who have passed on and enjoy those that are with me now, including that little fuzz ball in the bathtub brooder.
