Double TragedyPosted by Debbie on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 03:24 pmOur family has suffered a double tragedy this week. Faith, our son Daniel's fiancee, and their baby, Ziva Eden, died quite suddenly and unexpectedly Monday morning in Wichita, KS. Daniel had taken her to the hospital Sunday night. she was over 7 months pregnant and was experiencing strong contractions. She had a history of stroke and siezures and it was a high-risk pregnancy. This was known to the hospital. However, they sent her home, even though she was having difficulty breathing. Monday morning, Daniel went to pick up a prescription for Faith and Faith got worse. Her mother called 911 and she was transported to the hospital. En route, she stopped breathing and her heart stopped. They did an emergency c-section, but by the time Daniel got to the hospital, they were both gone. I can't begin to communicate the pain we are all suffering, especially Daniel. My heart is breaking not just for him, but for the unecessary loss of Faith, a sweet, loving, giving sister in Christ, and my probably only grandchild. I know that God has a purpose for everything and that they are with Jesus now. But, as Daniel said to me over the phone, "It doesn't make it hurt any less." The funeral is on Saturday and I wish I could be there for Daniel. It just isn't possible, and that hurts, too. My first instinct was to fly straight out there because my "baby" needs me. What can I say, I'm a mother and I love my son!
