February Already?!

Wow.  It seems Christmas was just last week!  I can't believe it's February already.

We had a very quiet Christmas.  My parents were ill so they didn't come up from Sarasota.  My brother, who lives in town, was sick as well.  I had made my famous eggplant parmasagnia for the big day.  Mom always makes her famous lasagna.  My eggplant has been sitting in the freezer since I made it, waiting until we're all better to celebrate a late Christmas.

Of course, since Jesus was most likely bron in late September, I don't think the date we celebate reaqlly matters.

In twelve days I will turn 51.  I don't feel 51.  Physically, I feel older, but, inside, I feel more like a teenager or someone in their early 20's.  When I was a teenager and in my early twenties, people thought I was older.  I didn't get carded until I was 30!  Some people have said that I have an "old soul".  Since I do NOT believe in reincarnation, I don't see how my soul could be older than the rest of me.

So, what have I learned in my 51 years on this Earth?  I know that thisw life is fleeting and that the things that really matter in life are not the things the world seems  to find important.  I have, most importantly, learned to trust in God.  Our society tells us to look out for number 1, if you want something done, do it yourself, that you are the only person you can depend on.  This is so contrary to scripture!God wants us to put our trust in Him and to let go.  It's a hard lesson to learn, but one of the most important lessons there is.

Now, what do I want for my birthday?  Well, God has given me SO MUCH!  I have the most wonderful husband in the world.  I have this little farm that brings me so much joy.  I have two sons who love me, the greatest parents and siblings.  The only thing I seem to lack is health.  But, I trust that God has a plan for my life and a reason for every trial He sends my way.

To get back to the previous question, I would most like for Jesus to come back for His church.  Short of that, I'd like my parents to move closer.  they just sold their home in Sarasota last night, so my wish will be coming true, God willing!  Apart from that, I'd kind of like to have a party.  I've only ever had one birthday party, my 18th. I don't NEED a party, but since I really don't get out much, it would be nice to see my friends on an occasion other than club meetings and functions.  Asw that is not likely to happen, just being with my husband alone would be WONDERFUL!  We haven't been on a date in quite a while.

I hope all who read this are doing well.  Stay healthy and stay close to the Lord.
