What? AGAIN?!

I know.  A deplorable lack of blogging and here I am with two entries in one day.  will wonders never cease?

Hubby and I have been watching a lot of Miranda Hart and we listen pretty exclusively to BBC radio shows for entertainment.  I mean, really, american entertainment is so boring and predictable and unclever.  All Hollywood seems to put out these days are badly done remakes of older movies or televiaion shows.  We don't even watch television except for golf and the odd football game.  Let's face it, what has american entertainment got to offer?  Even when we had satellite TV there wasn't anything worth watching.  Paid programming, reality shows, talk shows and increasingly more Spanish programming.

We do watch movies.  We have 2 400 disc changers with lots of old movies and BBC television shows.   We've been watching or listening to so much British comedy that I caught myself yesterday calling the windshield of the car the windscreen!  British lingo is becoming second nature to me now. what's next, spelling words like the Brits?

I do watch the odd Americanprime time programme(oops! there I go!), I mean "program".  I like Bones and The Finder and also liked House and Grey's Anatomy.  But, it's summertime and House has ended.  Nothing but lame reality shows.  I mean, really, what's the point? Isn't the whole idea behind being entertained about trying to forget reality for a while?

The news is even more depressing.  And morning television...  as i said we really don't watch TV but while sitting in a medical office waiting room one morning, the morning show guest was discussing decorative pubic hair trimming!!!  I about fell out of my chair!  How low has our society sunk when people have to listen to perky anchors and guests happily discuss pubic hair while we're at home drinking our morning coffee?  I much prefer when the commercials for bras had the model wearing the bra over a long-sleeved, turtleneck black sweater.  Now we get soft porn between the car ads.

Well, all I can say is give me James Stewart, Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Jean Arthur and LOTS of John Fennemore and Miranda Hart!
