Lukewarm Christianity

In the third chapter of the Book of the Revelation, Jesus wrote a letter to the church of Laodicea.  In it He said that they were neither hot nor cold and He would thus spew them out of His mouth.  Look around at the so-called "Christian" churches today.  More and more they are "seeker friendly", not wanting to offend anyone, ticking people's ears, focusing more on entertainment and church growth than on preaching the Gospel.  The music is modern with short, repetative verses designed more to entrance the masses than to glorify God.  The sermons teach on relationships, finances, how to live a more fulfilled life.  Secular movies, books and music are frequently found in these churches.  You don't hear about the sin nature of man, or the need for repentance and the salvation that comes ONLY through the shed blood of Jesus.  They think they are doing mankind a service by having free carwashes, or fun fairs, Easter egg hunts that draw in members of the community at large.  They want to be known as freindly and helpful.  While all that is well and good, but, what good does it do the dying, unsaved souls if you give them a clean car and not the words they need to be saved?  The message of the gospel is not popular today.  It does not "tolerate" other religions or lifestyles.  It is exclusive.  In this society, that is not tolerated!  How dare we Christians claim that all men are sinners and that the only way to be saved is through Jesus Christ? But how is it loving to know someone is in a burning house and to just give him a cold drink and not help him get out of the burning house?

Jesus said that the world would hate those who follow Him and speak the truth.  It's getting harder and harder to find those who stand firm in the Lord and refuse to yield to the ecumenical push.  Jesus and the deciples warned about the apostasy in the end times.  I believe that God is allowing this to be able to sort out the tares from the wheat.  Those who claim to be Christians, but who are not.  The world is currently being threshed and when the true followers of Christ are separated  from the rest of the world, I believe that is when Jesus will call His bride unto Himself.

It's time to stand firm in your faith and not compromise the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Remember what happens to the chaff.  It will be burned up.  I can see the whisps of smoke starting to rise as the flame is building.  Don't be blown by the winds of compromise. Fall at the feet of the Messiah and be saved!
