Franken ChickenPosted by Debbie on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 05:53 pmWent out to the chicken pen yesterday afternoon and saw one of the chicks missing part of its skull and its brain exposed! I ran around trying to catch it but was unsuccessful. Even though its running around with its brain showing, it is showing no signs of distress at all. It runs, roosts, pecks and scratches with the rest of them. We saw Henry, our rooster, peck at the chicks, so we think he might have been the culprit. It's hard to say, though. I've heard seen pictures of Mike the Wonder Chicken. He had his head chopped of but didn't die for 4 years afterward. Apparently, part of its brain stem remained. He continued to run around with the other chickens and was fed through his neck. Perhaps Franken Chicken will garner cult status as well!
